Dan O’Brien is a writer who has worked as a forklift driver, doughnut maker, and trash collector. More than 20 of Dan’s essays and narratives have appeared in The Oregonian.

Dan is a graduate of the Univ. of Oregon (B.A., English literature) and Trinity College (Dublin), where he also enhanced his studies in Irish poets, the Grateful Dead and Pac-10 football. When not writing fiction, Dan serves as a senior writer for an award-winning multimedia development company.

Born in San Francisco, Dan grew up around the babel of five older siblings before finding his legs along the clean streets of Portland. He dabbles in community activism and outreach. He has climbed mountains.
